ZOONOTIC DETECTIVES
During Edinburgh’s International Science Festival at the National Museum of Scotland, passers by were asked to solve puzzles to find out which disease our 6 patients had.
Using the case notes they had to find puzzle pieces that matched the symptoms, microbes, locations and animal contacts. By doing so, they could then put together the pieces to solve the puzzle of which disease it was and earn microbe stickers – there were 6 to collect.
This activity was easily tailored to young and old audiences alike and could be as long or as short as the passers by wanted – the stickers provided a great incentive though!
