Microbes really lend themselves to block prints. They reproduce clonally, producing near identical copies of themselves, like prints from the same printing block, and they do this at speed. In the right conditions, E. coli has a doubling time of 20 minutes… Like printing blocks, the copying might not take very long, but the template took far longer to develop too.
